Story
Hi there,
Well, it's over!! The Charity Spinathon took place yesterday and everyone lasted the full four hours without any injuries I am pleased to say. It was a great feeling to have achieved this as a team. We had thirteen participants in total and five instructors taking part for duration of the four hours so plenty of new exercises added in as we progressed through the afternoon and in to the evening.
A big thank you to all of you who have supported this great event. Overall, the team have so far raised in excess of £16,000 including the BP Matching. This is absolutely fantastic and a big thank you to each and every one of you who has sponsored one of the team.
As you already know, the Charity Spinathon is being held in order to raise money for two great charities. The charities chosen are the Great Ormond Street Children's Charity and the Lupus UK Charity. The Great Ormond Street Children's Charity provides inspirational and world class care to hundreds of children every day. The Lupus UK Charity is the only national registered charity supporting people with systematic lupus and discoid lupus and assisting those approaching diagnosis. As many of you know, I was personally diagnosed with Lupus over 5 years ago and I feel it is now a great time to both increase the awareness of this silent disease and also raise some funds to support the research behind this charity.
I am truly overwhelmed by the support that you have given to me personally in this journey I have achieved my personal target of raising £2,000 and this will be matched further by BP.
Thanks once again for your support and wishing you all the best over the festive break and in 2010.
