Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for adult men and women in the United States. The Montefiore Einstein Cardiac Wellness Program and Cardiac Wellness Conference bring a unique, nutrition-centered approach to cardiovascular disease management by attempting to prevent and reverse heart disease with dietary change. Created and directed by Robert Ostfeld, MD, MSc, and in partnership with Lauren Graf, MS, RD, the programs nutritionist, the Cardiac Wellness Program aims to prevent and reverse heart disease with a whole-food/plant-based diet.

My story started in April, 2017.   Suffering from short term memory loss and joint pain from my Crestor medications, I had to believe there was a better way.  My plant based journey had immediate impact. I lost 70 pounds total and feel better at 50 than in my 30’s!!  

The fact that I’m running marathons faster now than in my 30’s is a mere happy side effect.
