Childsifoundation wants to help put an end to the endemic problem of child abandonment in Uganda by setting up a ‘Child Abandonment Project’. Developed with leading experts in social care in the UK and Uganda, this unique model has three parts: a support programme to help mothers at risk of abandoning their babies; a transitional home to provide short-term life-saving care; and a family placement programme to ensure every child grows up in a loving family.

This charity has been set up by a lady I know who lives near me, when not in Uganda, who has already made tremendous progress in establishing the transitional home. at 47 years old and woefully unfit, I hope to get to Paris but nearly 100 miles on the first day seems somewhat daunting.
