Story
It's time to "SHINE" with a 1000 cycle !! I will be riding 32.3 miles everyday for the next 31 days reaching a target of over 1000 miles trying to raise as much money as I can for the charity "SHINE" a very special charity close to our hearts.
I am doing this to raise as much money as I possibly can for the amazing charity shine who have helped my family so much. As some of you know our world was turned upside down in October last year when our son Lincoln was diagnosed with a condition called hydrocephalus. In short hydrocephalus is a condition where pressure builds up inside your brain and basically has no where to go.
Lincoln has been in and out of Royal Manchester children's hospital. He has now had a shunt fitted in his brain which drains the excess fluid and enables Lincoln to lead a normal life. Not once has he moaned or whinged, he just gets on with it. I could not be any prouder of him he is my hero. Lincolns shunt failed in january so he had to go through the operation again and get a new one fitted. He is currently in manchester again with symptoms of the shunt failing again.
I want to give something back to show my appreciation for Pam, for my daughter Brianna, for my son Lincoln and to the wonderful charity Shine who have supported us as a family.
I wanted a personal challenge to really push me out of my comfort zone. Not only will I be thinking of all the above people to help motivate me and to keep going throughout the month I will also be driven by the funds I’m raising for this small but important charity.
I have no doubt this will be tough but nothing like what my son Lincoln is going through.
I appreciate these are tough times for everyone but if you can spare any money to donate I would really appreciate it. I be updating on social media so you can follow my story so please like and share as your messages of support will help me to keep going as I cycle in all weathers day or night!
