I only managed to complete the Chara 15 rather than the 30.

Hopefully the fact I spent over 5hrs tracking accross Dartmoor made the donatations worthwhile.

On 8^th August, 2010 I am taking part in The Chara Challenge for British Limbless Ex-Service Men's Association (BLESMA).

The Chara Challenge was founded in 2009 after 3 Commando Brigade Royal Marines returned from their third tour of duty in . During that tour 37 Royal Marines were killed in action and 167 were seriously wounded fighting the Taliban.

It is a demanding 30 mile cross-country race across carrying 32 pounds of weight to be completed in under 10 hours. Its purpose is to raise money for those charities that have a proven record of providing benevolence services for our wounded Service men and women and the dependants of the fallen.

BLESMA is the Charity that directly supports all our service men and women who lose limbs, the use of limbs or eyes or the sight of an eye in the service of our country and we are with them all whenever we are needed for the rest of their lives.

Their youngest Member is 19 and oldest is 99 – they truly are BLESMA for life
