Her Justice Shift the Power Campaign

Her Justice Shift the Power Campaign · 29 October 2020
Dear family, friends and colleagues,
As some of you know, I am co-chair of the Junior Advisory Board ("JAB") of Her Justice - an amazing nonprofit that provides free legal services to women and children living in poverty in New York City. Her Justice's clients have been disproportionately impacted by the current crises facing our nation. The Her Justice staff is working hard to ensure that its clients continue to receive the help they so desperately need, and the JAB is working hard to ensure that the organization has the resources it needs to continue providing these critical services.
To that end, we have launched the Shift the Power Campaign with the goal of raising $500,000 by December 31, 2020.
The Shift the Power Campaign is a commitment to advancing economic justice for women living in poverty in New York City.
We recognize that economic empowerment is a key factor in achieving gender equity, racial justice, and safety for survivors of intimate partner violence. Simply put, economic justice is about power.
Her Justice is advancing economic justice by providing free, critical legal services to women living in poverty who rely on the civil justice system for basic freedoms: personal autonomy, financial independence, and the chance to live free from abuse.
Please consider helping me #ShiftThePower by donating today.
To encourage you to donate, I am challenging myself to bike 500 miles by December 31, 2020. I will be making a personal donation to Her Justice for each mile that I bike. I will be uploading my rides from Strava so that you can track my progress. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to me if you have questions about Her Justice. Thanks in advance for your support!
