I am running the Edinburgh Marathon on the 23rd May 2010 in memory of my dad and to raise funds for Ward 2 of the Western General Edinburgh. The ward primarily cares for cancer sufferers and are currently lacking in vital pieces of equipment which would help ease the suffering and add to the comfort of their patients through very hard times. The staff were excellent in their care for my dad which was a great comfort to not only him but to the rest of the family knowing he was in such good hands. It is my absolute pleasure to be running for this cause and knowing that the money raised from your kind donations can go direct to the ward and to towards the equipment it so desperately needs.

The Violet Trust is an local charity which raises funds for cancer care, research and equipment and it is through them that I am able to raise funds directly for this cause. A truly worthwhile cause in itself is helping me raise and potentially better my sponsorship which will mean more equipment and more comfortably surroundings for those suffering.

If I could ask you to sponsor me and donate money to this cause I would be forever grateful - no amount is too small as this is all going to a very worthwhile cause.
