Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

WHAT AM I DOING?

My 1000 mile commute is one of my crazy ideas...but this time I intend to see it through and have been putting in the training.

For 5 weeks, starting Monday 27th of July, I will be cycling to work and back.  The round trip each day will be 40 miles.  This then adds to 1000 miles at the end of 5 weeks!

WHY AM I DOING THIS?

As an ex rugby player, I have enjoyed many years of playing great rugby with Raynes Park RFC and other great clubs.  I suppose this big cycle I'm undertaking is a sort of thanks to rugby for giving me such a great time.

5 years ago, Raynes Park RFC tragically lost a player during a rugby game. The players of Raynes Park have played a memorial game every year and raised funds for this very charity - a game I have been proud to play in each year.  The charity's name is the RFU Injured Players Foundation.

RFU Injured Players Foundation's key work is in supporting players who become seriously injured playing rugby. Help includes immediate support to injured players and their families, lifelong grant aid for a wide range of needs each year totalling over £400,000 and research to make the game safer.

So wish me luck and please dig deep and donate to this worthy charity now.

THANKS AND MUCH LOVE, CHUNKY ; )
