Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page: If you have problems donating then drop me an email at clairdalby@hotmail.com. If you want to donate cash, or you can't donate online then the following people will happily take your cash for me: Emma McCarroll, Jane Watson, Christopher D'Alby, Kris and Callum Rexter and Jennifer McFarlane (if you work for SP).

I will be walking the West Highland Way in May 2010. This is just under 100 miles of hills, lochs, glens, rain, midges and blisters. It won't be easy, I'm overweight and underfit and I have the equivalent of an army major setting the pace (my super fit mum).

I'm doing this to raise funds and awareness for SANDS in memory of my beautiful goddaughter Catriona Rose McCarroll who was sadly stillborn in November 2009. SANDS provides support, counselling and practical assistance to those who have experienced the loss of a child at birth. They aim to train midwives to deal with this most difficult event and to help parents, siblings, grandparents-anyone affected by the loss of a baby to cope with their loss.

Catriona's parents, Emma and Tommy, would appreciate any donation you would make in memory of their daughter for SANDS who helped them when Catriona was born and are still helping them now.

I'm also hoping that by doing this I will raise awareness of Stillbirth and Neonatal Death, that people wont be afraid to discuss it and that a child lost at any time is a child that is loved and missed everyday by many. Thank you for your donation, sharing the story and for helping build a lasting memory to a much loved and much missed little girl. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything.

---------------

I have now completed my physical challenge and arrived in Fort William on Tuesday 18th May. It was a long way in very hot weather but worth it to see so much money being raised for such a good causeThanks. If you want to see more of my challenge and Catriona's story then you can read it here: http://www.kidscraftandchaos.com/challenges

Now that I have completed my challenge my employer, Scottish Power, has contributed £300 through it's Charity matching scheme- this money has already been sent to SANDS along with all of the donations received through Just Giving.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
