Next Saturday, July 10th, I will be taking part in the Horses for Heroes ride across Ascot Racecourse and Windsor Great Park.  This ride has been organised with a view to raising £1m for Help for Heroes, a fantastic charity doing marvellous work for our brave and heroic armed forces wounded in the line of duty. 

The aim is to have 2010 horses and riders out together.  This will be a challenge in itself and I have fingers crossed that the brakes work on my horse, Des (aka Zebedee) or I could be taking part in the 2.30 sprint in the Ascot racecard in the afternoon!!  I will be riding with other members of our Riding Club - Chobham and District - and we all hope to make a meaningful contribution to the cause while avoiding creating havoc with our exuberant animals.
