Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Many of you will know that I am training to run in the Great South Run on 25th October...my first BIG race! What you may not know is that I would like to make this more worthwhile that just being fit and facing a physical challenge and raise money for a very worthwhile cause in memory of my lovely Dad, Alan. My Dad died in March 2002 after a series of strokes over a period of 3 years. At times he was very brave, at times he was very bewildered, sometimes there were flashes of the man he was 'before'. Often he didn't understand what was happening and didn't recognise his loved ones.
Stroke do not recieve as much money for vital research as many of the bigger charities, and yet a stroke can affect any of us. To quote the blurb: "every five minutes someone in the UK has a stroke. A stroke doesn't discriminate. It can happen to anyone at any time in their life. Strokes are sudden and their consequences can be devastating."
THANK YOU
