Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The King’s Arms Youth Centre is a charity that has been set up to meet the needs of young people of Petersfield and surrounding villages.  They run clubs, both after school and in the evenings, for young people aged between 11 and 19, and they support Young Carers across East Hampshire from the age of 8.  In addition, they offer mentoring and befriending services, skills workshops (focussing on specific issues such as anxiety, self-harm, anger management and conflict resolution), programmes to boost confidence and self-esteem, and groups for young people with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome.

The King’s Arms believes passionately that every young person has the potential for successful, healthy and positive development and, in
order to expand and improve services to support that belief, they are
campaigning for a purpose-built centre in the heart of Petersfield.  Projects such as mentoring and NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) support, need a quiet space that takes child protection into account and is separate from the youth clubs.

Since coming to live in Petersfield 18 months ago I have been inspired by the work going on at The King’s Arms, and am keen to raise awareness (and cash!) to support their cause. Any help that you can give would be much appreciated.
