To raise money for The Makaton Charity, Nigel, Aidan and Caitlin are running the "hardest half"  - The Midsummer Munro. This is an "ultra- half" marathon with a height gain/loss of 3000 feet, equivalent to a Scottish Monro.  There is more about it at www.trionium.com/mm/

We are running for The Makaton Charity, a fabulous charity that you can read about at www.makaton.org. We know and support its work because Jeanette, wife and mother to team Clifford, is a trustee of the charity. 

Makaton is a language programme using signs and symbols to help people to communicate. It is designed to support spoken language and the signs and symbols are used with speech, in spoken word order. 

Today over 100,000 children and adults use Makaton symbols and signs, either as their main method of communication or as a way to support speech.
