The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

Hi, thanks for visiting the 'Geraint and Simon Cross Scotland' page.

For Guide dog’s week. (we know it’s a little early but......) Geraint and I have decided to Run, Cycle and Kayak from the East to the West of
Scotland. Just 105 miles, apparently mainly going uphill.

We have set ourselves 2 days to get it done as part of a Coast to Coast
challenge.
coasttocoast

We are undertaking this challenge this weekend from Saturday Morning, the 9th of September and will finish on the Sunday. Both of us have competed in various fundraising challenges but this one will be a little different. 3 disciplines over tricky surfaces over 2 days. No doubt a little traditional Scottish weather may also make our crossing slightly trickier.

The route of this two-day challenge takes in some of the most  mysterious and wild locations in Scotland. We start on the East coast at Nairn then run, ride and kayak past Cawdor Castle, Loch Ness, Glen Nevis and Glen Coe, to name but a few stunning sights! The Highland terrain and weather breeds tough folk and we hope we are tough enough to take on this challenge.

-14 AVERAGE HOURS TAKEN TO COMPLETE TWO-DAY CHALLENGE 2016

-10840 TOTAL ASCENT IN FT

It would be great if you can support us in our efforts.

You can sponsor us via this site and donations will be quickly processed and passed to the Guide Dogs as part of Guide Dogs week.

We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

Getting involved in this will help us make a difference to the life of
someone living with sight loss.
