Story
I am passionate about raising awareness of neurodiversity and helping people understand what this means for the world. Today, evidence points to about 10% of the population being neurodiverse in some way. Just think for a minute....that probably means you know someone, work with someone or indeed are neurodiverse yourself. If we all better understood neurodiversity the world would surely be a brighter place; imagine that!! It would certainly be less stressful for people like me, Mum's and Dad's and employees and employers who are invariably all touched by this.
About 4 months ago I met a lady called Mig. She is an ADHD coach and she used to work for the Salvesen Mindroom Centre (SMC), a leading charitable organisation which supports people with neurodiverse challenges. Mig is an amazing lady and has lots of experience with people who have ADHD, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia. She helps me create strategies to help me cope with my everyday life. Some things that you might find very simple and easy to do, I struggle with.
So, I have decided to raise money for the SMC. I am going to do "Connie's Cut", a sponsored "hair shave"'; well maybe just a very short bob or pixie cut (I am only 12 !!).
Monies raised will go to directly to SMC so that they can help us all better understand and support those impacted by neurodiversity. Remember, the human brain is a complex beast and It Takes All Kinds Of Minds for the world to be a brighter place !
Please donate generously to Connie's Cut! It’s going to be a big change (hair dresser booked in less than a month - 17th December 2022!!). I'd also like to mention that all my lovely hair is going to be donated to the Little Princess Trust (monies raised to SMC).
