Story

Update 27/04/2011 - Cycled from Derry to Benone and back which totalled 50 miles. Was a beautiful Sunday cycle along the new Dual Carriageway that I haven't even had the pleasure of taking the car down, then along the Sea coast road which was class! :-) Lovely views and all the other cyclists are very friendly and give me a wee wave or a nod on the way past (probably to make sure I'm not about the keel over, cause it likely looks like it lol) Just looking at a new route now to up the mileage... poor wee bike wasn't expecting this kinda usage...

Update:12/02/2011 - Cycled today from Belfast out the beautiful cycle way to past Carrickfergus right out to Eden where I treated myself to a wee snickers bar before starting my return. What I learnt from this trip:
 - my new cycle shorts are definitely not flattering or stylish
 - two bottles of water is not enough for 30 miles
 - and 4 headache tablets will not get rid of the dehydration headache :-(

Update: 15/01/2011 - Cycled the Stretch from Belfast to Lisburn and back clocking up 23 miles. I was cycling against about 27 mph winds on the way out which was class craic! :-( hopefully there is no wind in france...

I bought a bike this year and started cycling to work, I loved it so much that I thought I'd extend the journey slightly and cycle from London to Paris... It's not that much further is it? Simples!!

Only joking, I've done charity work for the Hospice before and it's really close to my heart so although this will be a great challenge for myself the proceeds will be going to a great cause!

The trip is 5 days but the journey itself takes 4 days of lengthly cycles. The first day is 95 miles, which is the biggest, then this amount gradually declines over the next few days to 75, 70 then 60. The route takes me through Calais, Abbeville, Beauvais then finally ending up in Paris. It'll be my first time in Paris but I doubt I'll be moving much from the first bar I see :-)

Let the training begin... please give generously! Now, here's the boring stuff...
