On behalf of Unity productions I’m hoping to complete two marathons in two weeks under 4 hours, Brighton on the 2nd April then Manchester on the 16th April. Then attempt a third a few weeks later in May in Edinburgh, injuries permitting also under four hours. 

I’d really appreciate your support to get me through the miles. 

I’m raising money for this amazing stand alone completely voluntary ran charity. 

This charity I found after my mom had been cared for in the unit back in 2010/11.  She asked for some things to be donated to help with the comfort of the patients. So I’ve been raising money for them ever since. 

The charity provides timely equipment to the ward when in need. It’s responsible for funding the trial of, chemo at home, which has now been implemented by the nhs trust. This service saves patients who find it hard to get to the hospital from leaving their homes. 

The charity are responsible for creating the Georgina unit which originally only treated leukaemia but now treats all cancer patients. 

In recent years they have expanded areas such as, the POD waiting area and a small garden at Russell’s Hall hospital. 

They also run two charity shops, this helps with revenue. In addition to this they have 3 holiday homes that are subsidised for patients and/or their carers to take a well earned break from  treatment. 

The charity is also responsible for handing out scholarships every year to trainee nurses to help them undertake further training.
