DAO Shipping  Ltd is to take part, for the first time, in the Three Peaks Challenge in support of the Sailors’ Society.

 

The Challenge

The 2012 Three Peaks Challenge takes place on 15-18 June and consists of climbing three of the highest peaks in Great Britain within 24 hours!

 

The Peaks are Ben Nevis (1344m/4406ft), Helvellyn (950m/3117ft) and Snowdon (1085m/3560ft) and as many as 40 teams from the shipping and related industries will be taking part.

 

The Charity

The Sailors’ Society is a global charity that provides support and welfare

for the World’s 1.5 million seafarers.

 

The Society is inter-denominational and provides advice and assistance in

Seafarers’ Centers or aboard ships – irrespective of a person’s belief or

nationality. It seeks to enrich seafarers' lives throughout the world and

improve the quality of their wellbeing.

 

The Sailors’ Society’s vision is to replace isolation with belonging to all

the world's seafarers.  Through their operations in 30 countries and 100

ports providing the charity provides a vital services of communication,

practical facilities, faith aid and welfare support.
