5th febuary 2010, as a late entrant to the london marathon i have my work cut out. i've just been given a slot today to run for RNLI, the trouble is i have to now raise £2,100 within a short time for the priviliage. all the help you give will be most grateful. look forward to your comments and support. ty dougie o. I NEED TO RAISE £50 BY THIS WEEKEND TO HOLD THE POSITION. please donate to this web link if you think it's a worthy cause. even if its only £2 minimum it all totes up.
9/2/2010 thanks to you all so far for getting the page kicking off through this link over the weekend. the deposit i needed to secure the running spot has gone of to RNLI and straight towards saving lives. with a few people passing me cash and more pledged it looks like it won't take you lot long to hit the pledged target of £2,100. once i gather £50 in cash i'll deposit it online. :-) spread the link to your contacts ...see what you can manage.

15th feb 2010, on sat 14th feb i went off to the tcr.com triathlon exhibition. i didn't have enough time to get around all the displayed items, and i could of spent thousands there, if i won the euro lotto the night b4, but i didn't. i had a go in the endless pool, 14ft by 7ft fast lane swim pool with the water pumping at me to create a tidal effect. it was a hard swim even for the short time i spent in it, 15/20 mins. 2 days later i can still feel the affects on my traps (shoulder muscles at the base of the neck). great piece of kit if you can afford the basic pool 7k, or up to 15k for more gadgets. sunday my game to ref was called off so, like i should do, i went for a little run (15miles) to prepare for the half and full marathons in april. today i don't feel to many feel aches or pains, which is a good sign. a little swim later with the kids should soothe any stiffness away.
14th march 2010 plenty of swimming and biking in the last couple of weeks but, not enough mileage on the road running done. got to knuckle down now with only 5 weeks to go. need to kick start the running, again. plans for it sometimes go out the window with things cropping up and taking the window for the run away. (yeah yeah, can anyone one else think of some excuses?) now its mothers day i got another excuse...maybe.
7 / 4 / 2010 WITH MY PADDOCK WOOD HALF MARATHON PREP RUN THIS COMING SUNDAY, I'M JUST ABOUT READY FOR THE OFF ON THE 25TH APRIL FOR THE FULL LONDON EVENT. I'VE GOT SEVERAL 13/14/15 MILE RUNS DONE NOW AND ONE 20 MILER A WEEK AGO LAST SUNDAY. GOT TO WATCH MY FOOD AND DRINK NOW AND MAKE SURE ITS MAINLY GOOD. EASTER EGGS DIDN'T HELP MUCH BUT TASTED LOVELY !!! MANY THANKS TO ALL TAKING PART IN THE RAFFLE SOON TO BE DRAWN. WINNERS WILL BE POSTED HERE. PROCEEDS OF £300 WILL GO TO RNLI INCLUDING THE GARY KNOX £50 DONATION. MY 20 MILE RUN WAS RUN AT A PACE OF JUST UNDER 9 MINUTES PER MILE ON A HILLY TERRAIN AS I HEADED OUT FROM BELVEDERE PAST BLUE WATER AND CIRCLED SWANSCOMBE AND EBBSFLEET INTERNATIONAL IN KENT. LAST YEAR MY TIME FOR PADDOCK WOOD WAS 2:00HRS:30SEC'S. I'M HOPING FOR AT LEAST 5 MINUTES OFF THAT TIME THIS TIME AROUND. I'M A FEW POUND LIGHTER THIS TIME AROUND AND MY KNEE IS STRONGER. WATCH THIS SPACE....
20/4/10 WELL I HAD A NICE SUPRISE ON THE PADDOCK WOOD RUN. SEEMS MY NIKE PLUS CHIP WAS SLIGHTLY OFF WITH ITS CALCULATIONS. FOR EVERY 13 MILES IT WAS REGISTRERING 1 MILE SHORT AND SHOWING ONLY 12 COMPLETED. IT NEEDS TO BE CALIBRATED WHICH IS EASY ENOUGH. ANYWAY MY TIME WAS FANTASIC FOR ME AND WITH A STRONG FINISH THIS TIME AROUND. I COMPLETLEY SMASHED MY PREVIOUS ATTEMPT FROM LAST YEAR AND FINISHED ON 1HOUR 47 MINS AND 13 SEC'S. BODES WELL FOR AT LEAST A 4HR FINISH ON THE LONDON MARATHON!
