Story
Dear Friends,
As some of you may know, my mum passed away 5 years ago (on 28 November 2005) due to a heart attack and so in memory of her I have taken part in running at the Birmingham Half-Marathon 2010 which is due to be held on 24 October 2010.
I am also running for all of those people who have lost either one of their parents or have been affected in some way due to heart disease.
I miss my mum and think of her everyday and feel that nothing in this world can fill the void. I do not wish this feeling of loss upon anyone else and for this reason I shall be raising money on behalf of the British Heart Foundation.
So, thank you for visiting this page and wanting to donate something towards the cause. Please donate any amount of money that you wish to. Please do not feel pressurized to make the £1000.00 target but of course every little can make a difference to the British Heart Foundation and the work that it carries out either as scientists; through research, patient care, campaigning for change and by providing vital information.
I am in the process of training for this half-marathon. I have managed to complete one of each runs: 5K and 10K, and I have yet to complete another 10K run which is due to be held on 3rd October. I have begun to really concentrate on my training as of 1st September (dramatically cut down on chocolates and wine!) and really focusing on being well prepared by 24th October.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you so much for your donation and will let you all know whether I am alive or not after the event! Will also be posting photos of the event! :)
Lots of love and warm hugs,
Rinita :)
