Well it is the final countdown to the British Heart Foundation trek ( starting 1st and 3rd September ) and the miles covered so far in training have been made easier by the great support received which has definitely exceeded all our expectations. We have recently finished a walk in the Peak District and have added a picture to the web site. Gary, Karen, Daniel 2th July 2010 We would like to thank everyone who has sponsored our walk to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. The support shown has been way beyond our expectations. Because we have received so many generous donations exceeding our previous target of £700 ( as well as comments that the Cairngorms walk is too easy for me - thanks Kev) I have decided to extend the walk. Before meeting up with my Sister (Karen) and Dad (Gary) in the Cairngorms. On September 1st I will be walking Ben Nevis and the Lochaber traverse taking in three 4,000ft peaks as well as four peaks over 3,500ft. The following morning I will then travel to the Cairngorms to meet with Karen and Dad. The three of us will then depart Glenmore to do the 29 mile walk in the Cairngorms. We will then summit all of the other five peaks over 4,000 feet. Total walk will be 58 miles, 9 peaks over 4,000 ft and 4 peaks over 3,500 ft For more information about the charity please go to http://www.bhf.org.uk/.
