Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge 2023 · 29 April 2023 to 30 April 2023 ·

This page has been set up in memory of Lucy Dunn, who was an inspirational mother to Louis, by her sister Polly. As a family we are going to continue her dedication to him by continuing the fundraising and his therapies.

Story

In 2019 I ran my last ultramarathon to raise money for my friend Lucy and her amazing son Louis. The money raised helped fund specialist help for Louis.

After the news that we lost Lucy on Christmas Eve, I want to help raise some money again to help support Louis and this wonderful family.

On the 29th April I am running the full 106km coastline on the Isle of Wight and hope to complete the distance in under 19 hours.

Polly’s Story

As we have now lost my beautiful sister and, Louis rockstar inspirational mother, we, as a family are going to continue her dedication to him by continuing the fundraising and his therapies. Thank you for supporting.

Louis is a gorgeous and courageous eight year old. He was born with a very rare genetic disorder called Congenital Disorder of Glycosylation (CDG), a relatively new condition only medically recognised in the 1980s.

With extremely limited guidance or therapeutic support from the NHS, we started the Love for Louis campaign to raise funds for the life-changing therapy and support we need for Louis to reach his potential.

Louis is already benefitting from a wide range of therapies including Conductive Education, Vojta therapy, hippotherapy, hydrotherapy and physiotherapy. In the five years since we started private therapies, Louis has accomplished more than we ever thought possible and he continues to astound the professionals who work with him. The progress is slow but steady and with the right level of therapy we can help Louis learn to walk and talk.

If you feel willing and able to support a small boy with big challenges to have the best shot at life, then please support us here.
