Story
On May 19th 2011, 92 Police Officers (including myself) and Staff from The Metropolitan Police, Essex Police and British Transport Police will fly to New York. We will take part in a Half Marathon in Central Park (in uniform!) and a Plane Pull at John F. Kennedy Airport where we will take on New York’s Finest, Jet Blue Staff and British Airways Staff pulling a Jet Blue Airways Airbus A320 and a British Airways Boeing 747 400 airliner.
The Team, called Jack’s PACK – Police Against Cancer in Kids, are raising money for the charity
‘J-A-C-K’ Joining Against Cancer in Kids, named after Jack Brown the son of Metropolitan Detective Inspector Yvonne Brown and Detective Sgt Richard Brown.
Jack suffered from the rare childhood cancer, Neuroblastoma and sadly died at the young age of seven. In his memory Jack’s parents have set up J-A-C-K in order to help other children battle this terrible disease. Funds raised will assist in the costs of life saving treatments in the United States that are not available here in the UK and fund research into the disease here in the UK.
This is the 6th event in New York that has organised. Why New York?, i hear you ask.. because this is where Jack was treated and made many friends.
Jack has been an inspiration to all he met and he continues to touch the hearts of those who hear of him. Please help me to help others who now face Jack’s battle. Every donation no matter how small is so very greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Dave
