For SOUTH ATLANTIC MEDAL ASSOCIATION 1982

We have a specific fundraising target now of £62,000.00 to build the Falklands Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire which is planned for dedication on Sunday 20th May 2012 in the 30th Anniversary Year.

I am going to Purge my body and get fit again and start a fundraising campaign with the 2011 Bupa Great Manchester Run on 15th May. 

My aim is to finish the race(not on a stretcher) and if I can bust 1 hour I will be happy. Training going quite well-although a way to go to get back to my Para days.

So comrade/friend or friend of friend if you have any spare cash no matter how little bung it SAMA82's way via this page.

I promise you it will be money well spent just to see the agony I will suffer.

The memorial in 2012 will be a lasting tribute to all the lads who never made it home in 1982, and hopefully a place of reflection for family, friends and brothers to go and pay their respects. 

A memorial to those who gallantly gave their lives to restore freedom and liberty to the Falkland Islands. There is not a day goes by when that supreme sacrifice is not remembered.
