Story
I've committed myself to running 5 miles around central London in a Gorilla costume...you may well ask why!!?!
Well the annual The Great Gorilla Run recruits 1000 runners each year with the goal of getting each one to raise 400 each. If achieved that means that £400,000 can go towards helping saving and protecting the world's last remaining gorillas.
The Gorilla Organisation works with Ranger Patrols, Forest-dwelling People, through education and community development all in order to prevent further destruction of the gorillas' habitat and highlight the importance of environmental conservation.
I'll admit I'm not recognized for my sporting achievements of late, but believe it or not I used to be a bit of a sportsman (in my day!). So with this charity run you get two laughs for the price of one...
1. Me puffing my way over the finish line (if you choose to show up)
2. Me in a gorilla costume!
Because we are encouraged to dress ourselves up in fancy dress on top of the gorilla outfit, I'm going to add an extra incentive here and promise that whoever donates the highest amount to me on justgiving will have final say over what fancy dress I should wear on the day (within financial reason of course!)
Oh and don't forget GiftAid, as every penny counts!! Ta.
