We work in collaboration with deaf people to create a future of opportunity

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As you know I wear hearing aids because I did not protect my body properly in my twenties. Due to the lack of information and the understanding of the consequences of excessive noise, I have  lost over 20% of my hearing which is non recoverable.

I did not know I was partially deaf until I accidentally found out during a routine medical appointment (you have these when you are over 50).

Technology is moving at a fast pace and the cost of the latest hearing aids is prohibitive to most people. Hearing tests are available on the NHS as are hearing aids but they don't always meet todays demands and research is not keeping pace with other medical studies.

I am jumping out of an aeroplane for fun however being unable to hear is no fun at all, so I ask you to help people who are unable to communicate in the same way as you by donating generously.

Thanks for your kind support and I look forward to sharing my experience with you.

David
