Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The weather in the Alps this last week was brutal 45C at its peak. Our guide advised us against doing La Marmotte so we found 3 different routes all ending with going up Alpe d'Huez.
So day one Col du Glandon, Col de la Croix de Fer and the Alpe. Day two, Col d'Ornon and the Alpe. Day three Col de Sarenne and the Alpe.
50 % (3,000) people didn't finish La Marmotte, ambulances, heatstroke, exhaustion, general carnage. So happy to take the advice of those who know better than me.
We still did over 20,000 feet of climbing in 3 days in 42C heat, so I can assure you that it was no picnic.
Thank you to everyone who has donated.
My mother and father would be proud of the money raised and even more happy that I was not one of the people in the ambulances.
My mother died with MND, my father died with cancer, they were both cared for at Queenscourt Hospice in Southport. Queenscourt needs the money, MNDA needs the money and I did everything I could to raise money for them.
