Story
Please take a short time to read why this fund-raising event is important.
Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest and comprehensive NHS Trusts within the UK, which delivers mental health care in various hospital sites and community services between Berwick and Sunderland -- I am very proud to be an employee here at St Nicholas Hospital.
The SHINE Fund has been created to raise funds, with sole purpose of making a significant and positive difference to the experience of Service Users who are cared for and are on a journey to their forever important wellbeing; both physically and mentally.
For the reason that Service Users are our Trust's uppermost priority, it is assured that all donations (which are sent automatically to The SHINE Fund), are put towards extra things which are not included in the funding we receive from the UK Government alone. These funds can support various things, such as leisure, educational interests, special equipment for activities and enabling user and carer-led activities.
NTW NHS Foundation Trust's aims is to go that extra mile and to focus on recovery of Service Users both within wards and out in the community.
I am running the 2018 Great North Run in aid of the SHINE Fund. I have taken a keen interest in running long distances over the past year and I've always reserved thoughts about taking part in a Great North Run, however, it is this excellent scheme of a charity which has enabled me to quickly register my place to take part for this incredible cause.
Thank you very much for your time to read my JustGiving page -- please DONATE to make a positive difference.
Kind regards,
David Burnett
