I am running the Bristol 10k to raise money for Bristol Sands, a charity close to the hearts of our family and every penny donated goes to a fantastic cause.

Created in 1978 by bereaved parents frustrated at the lack of bereavement care and support available, Sands has always had the support of bereaved parents at its heart. Before charities like Sands sought to make changes, losing a baby was handled very differently to how we care for parents who suffer a stillbirth or neonatal death today. Parents didn’t get to see or spend time with their babies, there were no photos taken, and perhaps most heartbreaking of all, parents didn’t know where their babies were buried.
