Fundraising for Families First North East
Story
I’m going to raise money for a local charity Families Frist, who are one of the North East's Largest charities supporting children and young adults with additional needs. Also supporting older adults with social and mental wellbeing as well as improving health across the region. Based in Hartlepool.
The charity itself is close to my own heart and they support and help my girlfriends son who has Autism. They have a range of clubs and activities that he can attend that are a lifeline for them.
I will be doing various event across the year. I have listed below the activities I have booked and will keep adding as they are confirmed.
February - Race at your pace. A virtual running challenge, I chose to run 50 miles, this can be done on the treadmill or on the streets. Runs will be logged using Strava and Fitbit. My evidence will be uploaded at the end of the month to receive my medal.
18th Feb - Run Newcastle Valentines 10K
11th March - Stroke 10k Stockton
22nd April - Sprint Duathlon Stockton
May - Race at your pace. A virtual bike challenge, I chose to bike 100 miles, Activities will be logged using Strava and Fitbit. My evidence will be uploaded at the end of the month to receive my medal.
25th August Triathlon Relay Championships. Each member of the team individually swims 500metres, before tagging their team mate, and so on, and so on, until all four people have completed the swim. Moving onto the 15km bike, each athlete individually completes the 15km bike, until the last team member then tags the first team member to start the 5km run section, with the final athlete finishing in front on the grandstand under the Triathlon England gantry!
23rd September Yes You Can 10k.
30th September Hartlepool Big Lime Triathlon. Comprising of a 750m open water swim in Jackson's Dock, a coastal 20km bike course on closed roads finishing with a 5km run along the promenade in Seaton.
