I started working for The Mare and Foal Sanctuary, an amazing equine welfare charity based in Newton Abbot, as their Director of Fundraising and Communications in March 2019. It has been an incredible twelve months and I feel privileged to be a part of the organisation. 

To mark this special milestone, I’ve decided to raise money to help care for our rescued horses and ponies, including Ava and Solomon (pictured with me) who I have a particularly soft spot for; and especially at a time like this, because our charity (and thousands of others) cannot exist without the generosity of the great British public.

So the plan is that I’m going to cycle 10 miles a day on my indoor bike for 50 days from this Saturday (28 March), meaning by the time that the 17 May comes along, I will have cycled 500miles!   This is in lieu of my original plan to take part in the 5mile (8km) Beer Blazer multi-terrain run on 17 May - which was postponed for 12 months due to coronavirus on the day I launched my appeal!

****HOLD THE PRESS**** On the completion of my 500mile challenge on 16 May 2020, I've been challenged to ride 1000 miles to honour our 1000th rescue at The Mare and Foal Sanctuary and I'm delighted to accept!  So now, I'm going to push on with another 500 miles - but for this, I will probably ride for longer but over less days in the week!  I'll keep you posted with my STRAVA updates on this page.****
