Story
Many of you will be aware that I am a trustee of the UK charity Wellbeing of Women, the health charity investing in pioneering medical research to keep women well at each stage of life.
The work of the charity touches us all through our families, our workplace and society generally. Yet at present, only 2.1% of research funding in this country is directed towards improving women’s health, both maternal and throughout their lifespan.
Some of you may know why Peter and I support this charity. For those of you who don’t, we thought we would share why this charity means so much to us.
Some years ago, Peter and I had the misfortune to go through three miscarriages, but we were very fortunate to be referred to a very special lady called Professor Lesley Reagan who helped us overcome this issue and complete our family with Aaron, our youngest child. Professor Reagan was able to diagnose our condition due to the research she had undertaken in this area, much of which was funded by Wellbeing of Women.
As our personal tribute to the charity and to raise funds for its excellent research, Peter and I are planning on walking the Anglesey coastal path over the Easter holidays. This is a 200km walk through the rugged beauty which makes up Anglesey; neither of us have done anything like this previously!
Please accept our heartfelt thanks for all your support in this endeavour.
