The O2e mission statement is:  To make a difference to the lives of serious and terminally ill children whilst encouraging and supporting all ages to embrace sport and adventure, get out of their comfort zones and live life to the full.

Last year I took a giant leap and embarked on the challenge.  Unfortunately due to sever blisters I did not complete the route.  This year I am pushing the boundaries again and doing two challenges back-to-back.  The first being the 3 Peaks and then I am going back to the to finish what I started last year!  

I am also lucky enough to be joined by Piero Trinca on the Gobi Challenge this year.

On Saturday 19^th June we will start the 3 Peaks challenge at 10am on Snowdon in .  We then need to conquer Scafell in the Lake District followed by Ben Nevis in , all within 24 hours.

The following weekend, Sunday 27^th June, we will depart for where we will participate (and complete!) in the Gobi Desert Challenge and again we are looking to raise money for O2e.  Over the period of a week we will cover circa 140 miles on foot whilst carrying all of our food, provisions and, of course, mandatory safety gear.  This is certainly a huge challenge both physically and mentally but I am more determined than ever to complete the whole route.  Temperatures will be around 40°C as we make our way through an ice gorge, ’s highest sand dunes and mountain gorges.  The nights will be spent living with nomadic goat and camel herders along the route in tents or in their traditional felt gers.
