Derian House Children's Hospice provides specialist care and respite to children and young people with life-limiting or life-shortening conditions. We cover the South of Cumbria, the entire of Lancashire and the North of Manchester. To provide our services in 2024 the cost to us stands at over £6m.

Story

                                   Derian House Playground Appeal

Sponsored by AO.COM the Derian House Playground Appeal will provide a unique opportunity for life-threatened children and their able-bodied siblings to play together.

Every child loves to play, but sadly for the children at Derian House Children Hospice a visit to the park often means a life threatened child or their brothers and sisters are left excluded.

This summer, employees at online electrical retailer AO.COM are planning to change this by fundraising through a variety of activities before committing to a gruelling 600 mile cycle ride from their new Germany Head Office to Bolton!

The motivation behind the epic challenge is to raise enough money to build a brand new playground for the hospice. The first of its kind in the North West, the park will provide unique opportunities for life-threatened children and their able-bodied brothers and sisters to finally share playtime, bond with their siblings and form memories they will treasure for a lifetime.

Please help us make these children’s dreams a reality by making a donation today.

Every pound that you donate will be DOUBLED by AO’s own charity the AO Smile Foundation to help make the dream of a new playground a reality for Derian House this summer. (This will be displayed in our 'off line' donations on Just Giving).
