Me and my son Isaac and friends Alex Truman and Guy Huxley are cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats keeping to quiet roads and cycle routes to enjoy seeing the amazing country in which we live in.
30 years ago I cycled from Bolton Lancashire to Nairobi in Kenya through the Congo Basin and along the river Nile doing over 10000miles raising money for VSO (Voluntary Services Overseas).
I'm getting on the bike again (well a different one as the tyres are flat on the old one and it has retired from active service) and raising money for Sustrans (Sustainable Transport) who are creating and maintaining the 14,000 miles of National Cycle Network (we're not doing them all) which is used by 5 million people a year for walking and cycling and running on safe traffic free or quiet routes.
