Story
Hi All !!
Thanks for visiting our page - please help us while you're here !!
Call us mad and crazy but we, with the help of our support crew, are taking part in "THE FORCES MARCH" on 27-31 May 2010 to walk 130 miles over 5 days or 5 marathons in 5 days....and camping overnight in between!! OK, we can hear you shouting "mad" and "crazy" now!!!
The route starts from Ilfracombe in North Devon and finishes at Bulford, Wiltshire and follows much of the same route taken by The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry "the 52nd" in 1942 when training for D Day.
We have been asked to raise £4000 for the charity "Project 65" (named after the 65th anniversary of D-Day in 2009) so we REALLY need your help and your pennies!! The charity is aiming to raise £1 million by the end of this year to support the following very worthwhile organisations:
The Army Benevolent Fund
BLESMA - British Limbless Ex-Service Man's Association
Help For Heroes
The RAF Benevolent Fund
St Dunstan's (provide assistance to ex-Service men and women who have lost their sight)
The Royal British Legion
The Royal Naval Benevolent Trust
Given what our service men and women do for us and our country every day, we thought the least we could do to show our support for their amazing bravery and at times, tremendous sacrifice was with a "spot of walking" !!
We would be so grateful if you would help us to show that support and keep us going when our feet and muscles are yelling for us to stop! - Please give as generously as you are able - all is appreciated and received with much thanks.
Hayley, Dawn, Keith and Dave
& support crew, Robbo and Jim
