Hi All

 

The time has come to challenge myself once again- this time I will be participating in the Mazda London Triathlon on August 8, 2010.

I will be hoping to complete (in one piece) a 1500m swim, 40km bike ride and a 10km run- a huge task and one I'm excited and worried about.

One thing that I'm really excited about is supporting St Patrick's College Jaffna Alumni Association UK- the charity supporting my Father's and Grandfather's college in Sri Lanka. This Alumni group are constantly raising money and awareness of the plight of the school and those students marginalised by a long and heartbreaking civil war. Through the charity, the College has been able to reconstruct sporting fields, offer computing facilities and scholarships to gifted but underprivileged students and more widely, provide a vision beyond the struggles at home to these children- something we all take for granted.

On a personal level, it is with huge honour I am able to support this organisation which does great work and has a strong link to my family.
