Story
As many of you know, I quite like putting on rubber suits and getting wet. I'm at it again, and its a big one: it's the marathon...in the water. Not the Channel yet, but a hefty 10 km (that's a third of the Channel) on the river Dart in Devon on September 12 (my brithday!). And no, I will not be able to simply drift downriver: the Dart is tidal and the swim timed to neutralise all benefit of the current. I AM RAISING MONEY FOR HAITI. I lived (and learnt how to swim) in Haiti for a few very happy years in my long-gone youth. You will recall the devastation of the earthquake earlier this year. A tragedy in a country with so few resources. SOS Children's Villages runs 2 orphanages there and do great work supporting kids and helping them become self sufficient adults. There is still desperate need so please help and sponsor me.
