Do It For Di

On 21st October 2016 Di Whitfield was diagnosed with terminal cancer - this was the first indication that she had this terrible disease. Sadly Di passed away on 15th November 2016.

Once she knew she was going to die - she was strong and just thought of the effect on others - Family and Friends - what a brave lady.

Di supported  'Harbour Cancer Support' for many years - being a charity run by her daughter Melanie. The  charity offers Practical and Emotional Support for  those affected by Cancer. She made marmalade for the charity to sell, sold their Christmas Cards and Raffle Tickets,  collected money and manned event stalls - Di was always trying to help in some way, thinking of ways to keep this important charity funded.

During her final days she came up with an idea called - Do It For Di - and she asked if this could be launched on her 'Last Day'. Di  asked that everyone who attended her funeral considered carrying out a Personal Challenge - something that they would do that would take them out of their normal comfort zone and at the same time use this Challenge to raise £100 each for Harbour Cancer Support.
