Story
Hi everyone, it's that time of year again. After last years dash up the NatWest Tower its time for a re-run!
It has been a particularly cold winter this year and all donations will go to Shelter, the homeless charity for Londoners with no place to sleep. Please give what you can afford and if you can GiftAid it as what you donate will amount to more at no extra cost.
Last years time was 8 minutes 31 seconds so I'm hoping to get under 8 minutes and have been training over the 9 floors in my office block. Next week I'll be hiking up the 33 floors of Guy's Hospital every day after work to train. Once, again your donation is appreciated, and any amount is welcomed.
UPDATE! - I've uploaded the before and after photos and a few from the top. Thank you for all your donations - it is all in a very good cause. If anyone is interested in doing the run next year please tell me around November time!
Results-wise I clocked a time of 7m 20secs, which placed me at 198th / 928 runners. This was a big improvement from last year where I came around 300th/500 participants. I think that under 7 minutes is definitely reachable in 2011. The top finisher didn't break the 2009 world record of 4m 22secs from Matthias Jahn (which is ridiculous!). The 2010 winner did it in 4m 52secs.
Here is an article about this year's event in Men's Health magazine:
