18 hours until my first event :-)

Thank you so much Cathy Gould :-) x

Five weeks on Sunday I am running the first of seven events to raise money for Brain Tumour Research UK. The Great North West Half Marathon in Blackpool. I have chosen this charity as the very name is close to my heart and really want to hekp raise awareness. Training this year has been very tough and involved alot of heavy rain. But I excel at a challenge and each training session proves that, especially with the help and support of everyone at running club. I really want to make the Blackpool half marathon a solid start to a tough year of events. Please help me through 2014 to help make a difference. Many thanks :-)

Please continue to support me...Many thanks :-)

On the 26th April 1998, I lost my Mum to a brain tumour. A tragic time for my family and left a huge gap. I was only 17 at the time. Over the years I have never wanted to talk about her illness, but feel now nearly 16 years on that it was the right time to stop running away from it and stand firm. Since Mum's passing I have gotten married to Melanie and become a Dad to our wonderful Daughter Kira. These while being the 2 happiest days of my life, have been overshadowed by the fact my Mum can't be here to see her Daughter in law and her first Grand child. 2 years ago I took up long distance running and have raised over £700 for the Hospice that took care of Mum. Now I have chosen Brain Tumour Research, I am running three half marathons and four 10k events across England and Wales.  Here is my page for 2014...Starting on the 8th January will be my training and for my first event on the 23rd February and finishing with my 7th event on the 8th November...Please take a moment to read this page and also follow me on my dedicated running page...Many thanks :-)
