Story
Hi all
After an animated chat in a pub, Marnos and I discovered that due to neither of us having many friends, we were both at a loose end on the second bank holiday of May. With optimism and ambition fueled by London Pride we decided we would cycle to Paris, hoping to arrive on Sunday for some escargot and an intimate evening in Montmartre. Two non refundable Eurostar tickets later and we were uncomfortably committed to a 250 mile slog completely unsupported by anything but our legs, lungs and will power.
Initially there was no plan to raise any money – this was meant to be a holiday. However, it has become increasingly obvious that as neither of us is likely to gain much pleasure from the experience we might as well try and raise some money for a good cause. If you have anything left in your charity budget after the London Marathon please consider giving generously to Shelter, it might just keep me cycling when the lure of the best integrated public transport network in the world becomes too much!!
Thanks
