Story
On the 23rd September 2010 The Durham Brothers will be strapping themselves to a Red Devil and stepping out of a plane (two miles up!) in aid of The Royal British Legion. In recognition of The British Legion’s 90th anniversary, we will be joining 88 other people in supporting this important and timely cause. Our grandfather fought in WWII and was active in helping veterans and their families all his life. We hope to continue that good work by raising at least £1000.
Please give what you can.
How does the British Legion make a difference?
· Since 2003, the Legion provided financial help to 10,000 Service personnel, recent veterans of and and their families.
· We represented one-third of all the appeals for higher compensation payments for injuries suffered in .
· Our campaigning has led to increased compensation awards which have placed an extra £7.5 million in the pockets of the most seriously injured.
· Our campaigns are also resulting in £24 million in improvements to the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at in
· We’re also securing priority NHS health care for wounded veterans, better support for bereaved families, and better access to mental health care for veterans.
Thank-you in advance for your generosity!
