The Oaklea Trust helps disabled and disadvantaged people gain their independence through support and inclusion.
There are a number of ways in which individuals can express their independence by having choices and making decisions which directly affect their lives.
These decisions can include maintaining personal relationships, following religious or ethnic lifestyles, or by playing an inclusive and participating role in their community through leisure activities, through education or contributing by finding and maintaining employment.
The Oaklea Trust provide the resources to support the activities to make independence at some level an achievable and viable aim for our customers.

This year, following on from the 108 miles of pain in one day, I am cycling from Whitehaven to South Shields over 3 to 4 days along with 9 other loonies. Apparently I have to incorporate a "fun" run along the way as well. Training will be a tad more comprehensive than last year and I shan't be having a fag before setting off!
I will have a cushion on my saddle!
