Dear Friends 

Thanks for taking the time to visit my just giving page – it is very much appreciated. 

I am taking the leap to fundraise for Disability North (www.disabilitynorth.org.uk) by abseiling down Civic Centre.  My work within the commissioning team at NHS North of led me to shape a partnership with Disability North and this challenge actively enables me to fundraise for a worthwhile charity.   

So why am I doing this?  Disability North are committed to eliminating discrimination and barriers that older and disabled people face by raising awareness of these issues to a wider audience. 

I am a firm supporter of equal opportunities and fairness as some of you may know,  as well as being motivated to make a personal contribution which may make a small difference to someones life.  To reflect, sometimes everyday activities we take for granted may impose a barrier for older or disabled people and Disability North aims to promote inclusion, independence and choice for disabled people. 

To participate in this challenge I must raise a minimum of £100.  Your sponsorship will enable this charity to continue with their outstanding work to eliminate discrimination. Every little counts.  

So, please enable me to achieve this personal challenge for a worthy cause, I’m feeling the fear but doing it anyway.
