I am raising money for Newcastle Dog and Cat shelter as I have always cared very strongly about the welfare of animals. The charity is a non profit organisation that cares for thousands of lost, unwanted, abused and neglected animals every year. Obviously caring for this many animals is very costly, with veterinary bills alone costing over £15,000 per month due to the severe conditions the animals are in upon arrival.  Per year, it costs £26,311.04 to keep the kennels heated. They do not receive any government funding and so they have to rely solely on donations from the public.
