Story
Thanks for visiting my page and if you have, donating.
Quite a few months ago now I decided to challenge myself to do the South Downs 100 mile Velo on September 23rd. I am doing this challenge as an unusual Valentine's gift.
In a comparatively short time I have watched the strength and patience it takes to sit and listen, to comfort and be calm when a person you love doesn't understand what's happening to them. Then to fight the system to make sure that person is safe and cared for as they deserve, so you can sit and laugh with them as you should, because you're happy that they are happy.
I live in a world where I watch the people I love care for their loved ones, when they can't care for themselves. Dementia is a horrible disease, that doesn't just take the lives of many people but challenges the lives of their families also.
Please help me in raising some money for this unbelievable charity.

A few facts:
- There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK.
- 225,000 people will develop dementia this year. That's one every three minutes.
- Two thirds of the cost of dementia is paid by people with dementia and their families.
- Unpaid carers supporting someone with dementia save the economy £11 billion a year.
- Dementia research is desperately underfunded. For every person living with dementia, the annual cost to the UK economy is over £30,000 and yet only £90 is spent on dementia research each year.
- Alzheimer's Society is committed to spending at least £150 million over the next decade on dementia research to improve care for people today and find a cure for tomorrow. This includes £50 million to develop the UK’s first dedicated Dementia Research Institute.
