Some of us are experienced runners. Others are those who only ever run to catch a night bus home armed with cold chips and thwarted by unreasonable high heels. Together, we are the optimistically named “Elite Feet” and for the important and worthy cause that is Cancer Research, we’ve decided to abandon the bus, challenge our individual, sporting abilities and band together to run, jog or walk 5km on the 22^nd May around Regent’s Park.

Our team consists of: Kim Vuong, Sam van den Heever, Lisa Smith, Rosie Stewart, Linh Lam, Nicola Livesley, Heidi Ijomah, Cheryl Nori, Tasha Sutherland, Carol Howard-Williams, Katie Bethune, Sue Marotta, Ewa Jaglarz, Brenda Morgan and Corinne Wilkinson.

Cancer is the number 1 fear in Britain, toppling Alzheimer’s, heart attacks and terrorism, and every two minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with some form of cancer but through things like Race for Life which helps raise funding for research, half of people diagnosed with cancer now survive their disease for more than 5 years and the average 10 year cancer survival rate has doubled over the last 30 years.

We all know someone who has had cancer so to us, this is a brilliant cause. We hope you can all get on board and support us from the start to the very end when we arrive red-faced, sweaty, tired and dirty (and if any of the other Elite Feet are as clumsy as Tash, they’re bound to fall over at some point) but thoroughly proud through the finish line!
