Story

Bernie Fleming, a father to six children and dearly loved husband of Cath, passed away from lung cancer at just 64 years old. Bernie received his treatment and diagnosis at Aintree Respiratory Clinic. The staff there provided Bernie with exemplary care, for which Bernie's family are very grateful. The period of Bernie's diagnosis and treatment was tough, but the family pulled together to support one another and Bernie showed amazing optimism and courage during this time. Bernie's family established the Bernie Fleming Aintree Lung Cancer Fund on 17 July 2018: "Our hope is to improve and enhance patient experience for those going through lung cancer diagnosis and treatment at Aintree Hospital."
