In my 30th year of life its probably about time for me to be running the London Marathon. For those that know me well, you know I will work hard to do my best and your support will help me along the way, as well as raising some money for a good local cause. Thank you for your support it means a lot to me and the people we will be helping.  

I am running for a very worthy local charity called The Connection at St Martins. They are open seven days and nights a week, seeing around 200 homeless people every day, 5,500 individuals a year.   At the moment they are facing an increased demand for their services, seeing at least 5 new people every day.

Their services help to address the issues which lead to people’s homelessness, providing outreach on the streets, healthcare, access to basic facilities such as showers, laundry and food.  They provide specialist support to help with mental health, drug, alcohol and other problems, alongside advice and support to get into accommodation, improve skills and move into training and employment. Last year they worked with 1,200 rough sleepers on the streets, placed 1,700 people into accommodation, helped 2,000 people to return to their home areas and gave employment and training support to 1,250 people, 300 of whom went into jobs or training.
